Since 2008, Saturn and Uranus have been on opposite sides of the sky. They only pull against each other like this once every 45 years. Gustav Holst, composer of The Planets suite, called Saturn 'bringer of old age'. It certainly keeps giving us reasons to think that hope is dying out. The recession, for example. Or climate change. But opposing Saturn is Uranus, the planet Holst called The Magician. Out of its hat come amazing new inventions and pioneering world leaders. So far, the battle has been a stand off. This year though, Jupiter comes to stand by Uranus. To Holst, Jupiter was 'bringer of jollity'. It is also a bringer of joy, justice, hope, faith. While Saturn cannot summon some other problem planet to its aid, it can still try to 'nobble the referee.' All it needs is a heavenly body with a dark reputation and a point to prove. If it could place such a planet in the middle of the tug-of-war, it could trigger so much fear and anger that the heroes slip and the balance tips the villain's way. And guess where Pluto will be this year! To see this all play out on the world stage, just watch the news. To see how it may influence your life... read your prediction. And to help the right side win, make an effort in 2010, to prioritise care, compassion and concern for the future of all, over whatever seems like your own most pressing personal need.

The second decade of the 21st century starts here. Many cosmic challenges are due and some involve rare alignments we haven't had in years. If you want to know what they mean for your sign, check your reading on this page or the next. Here, though, is a taste of what they could bring to the whole world. Think of it as the trailer to a movie.

THRILL! In mid-January, as an annular eclipse over Africa heralds Jupiter's return to Pisces for the first time since February 1998. GASP! ...at the end of that month, as Saturn completes an intense right-angle to Pluto - awakening nervousness all over the world! Worries, though, will come to little. In March, the worst we'll see is Mars tracing a fascinating return to the start of Leo. It nearly slips back into Cancer before resuming its current, exceptionally long journey through the sign of the Lion.

April brings CHALLENGE to Virgos as Saturn revisits their sign... and repeats another trying opposition to Uranus.

Late May promises ELECTRIC EXCITEMENT when Uranus returns to Aries for the first time since October 1934! Expect news of a scientific or technological breakthrough then.

June contains the solstice as usual, but it also become ACTION PACKED with the departure of Mars from Leo, the arrival of Jupiter in Aries and a rare conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus on June 8. The end of June also brings a partial lunar eclipse. Neither this nor that solar eclipse in July will be visible from here, but we'll all feel RELIEF at the departure of Saturn from Virgo. In August, the temporary return of Uranus to Pisces is followed by another right-angle from Saturn to Pluto, creating RED HOT DRAMA on the world stage, especially as it forms a 'T-Square' with Jupiter and Uranus.

That T-Square, while not 'exact', still hangs with an EDGE OF MENACE over September when Jupiter follows Uranus back into Pisces.

There'll be PASSION in October with the passage of both Mars and Venus through Scorpio. All this, plus a General Election and a World Cup, in both of which... the underdogs will do surprisingly well.

I've got a lot more to say to you about the outlook for your sign in 2010. You can hear it all as soon you become a part of our legendary 5 Star service. Or perhaps you might like me to chart your personal map of the sky and prepare a report covering the whole year, strictly, personally for you!
