Live Every Day - The Journey of a Horoscope - Day 3
by Oscar Cainer
In this series, Jonathan's nephew and astrological collaborator, Oscar explains how he helped his friend and musical colleague, Michael, to organise a tour in which he played a different venue, in a different place, once a day, every single day, for an entire year. Using his knowledge of astrology, Oscar helped select a start date and time for the venture and here, each day for the next few days, he tells the tale of how that all unfolded and how it all relates back to the horoscope of the tour itself.

In Part 2, I explained how the chart at the start of this new venture contained Saturn conjunct the Ascendant (Asc), squaring the Sun on the Ic, which it also rules. In a typical new business, this might be considered as a sign of restriction on how the business sees itself or goes out into the world, perhaps a tendency to get caught up in red tape...
However for this project, the Saturn on the Asc screams one thing: WORK! The repetition of going though the same process of trying to find a gig, often being rejected, doing the same routine every day, with certain restrictions on where and to whom you play all seem like very Saturnian concepts to me. By its nature this project was very free in it's location and definition. The requirements were at least one gig a day, to at least one person, for at least 35 minutes. Without the Saturnian energy shaping and defining the project as a whole, it would have spiralled out of control and lost all its meaning. The Saturnian regulations on the Ascendant gave the project just enough of an air of conciseness, a veneer of control and a framework by which it could be understood. Inside these Saturnian walls Michael and I were bouncing about all over the place, experiencing all sorts of highs and lows and profound alterations, but the Saturnian packaging allows that all to be boxed up and presented as one consistent, definable package.
Pluto conjunct the Sun on the Ic is a very heavy aspect to deal with. Traditionally Pluto-Sun conjunctions can signify issues with one's father, power struggles and crisis of identity. However, in this case, I believe the there is a lesson that it signifies about the nature of personal power and the ability to shape one's destiny.
Tomorrow, I'll explain more about how it began to shape my friend Michael's destiny.
