Live Every Day - The Journey of a Horoscope - Day 5
by Oscar Cainer
In this series, Jonathan's nephew and astrological
collaborator, Oscar explains how he helped his friend and musical
colleague, Michael, to organise a tour in which he played a
different venue, in a different place, once a day, every single
day, for an entire year. Using his knowledge of astrology, Oscar
helped select a start date and time for the venture and here,
each day for the next few days, he tells the tale of how that all
unfolded and how it all relates back to the horoscope of the tour
itself.

For me
the Ascendant complex in this chart shows the nature of how this
project bore out. Whereas in it's conception the project was all
about Michael travelling from one place to another, playing music
every day and perhaps working on developing his own music style
and solo career, in the end it became less about himself and more
about others, as one would expect with a Libra Ascendant. As I
have mentioned already, the social nature of his Ascendant was
obviously active, he very only really able to feel like he
achieved when he was connecting with other people: it was through
those connections and interactions that he learned deeper lessons
about himself. It also reinforced the lessons of compromise when
it came to getting the best out of a situation and achieving his
aims, which is illustrated by the square to his Sun Pluto
conjunction and the fact his Descendant is in
Aries.
With
this project there is a sesquiquadrate connection between the
Ascendant and Neptune conjunct Chiron in the 5th house, which is
also interesting. The Neptune/Chiron conjunction also squares
Venus, the chart ruler, which is conjunct the Moon. As this
project developed, it became clear that one of the few constants
in almost all the gigs was that there was a sense of healing in
many of the shows. Sometimes directly, in case of playing in
hospitals, and sometimes less obviously so, there seemed to be a
consistency in this experience that was the most prevalent of all
the recurring themes. There would be some sort of connection
between Michael and the audience, often in the most unexpected
places.
For
example, Michael was playing at a little French café in an area
of Miami known as 'Little Haiti'. There was a man in the café
listening intently, unlike many of the audience who were enjoying
the music but going about their business. Michael began to play a
certain song, a Cuban folk song he knew, and the man began to
sing along and at the end of the performance he
wept.
