October 16th to 20th
MONDAY OCTOBER 16 Update missing Our apologies that this day is missing - it will be updated as soon as I track it down....
TUESDAY OCTOBER 17 All you need is love? Back in the sixties, people sang "All you need is love." Some of us truly believed that one day, we would see an end to war, oppression and poverty. A new millennium is upon us now. Still though, there is hatred, famine and fear. SO what has happened to that dream of a better world? Is it just a piece of history? Astrologers are not so sure. Major cosmic changes suggest, to us, a time when soon, people in their millions could adopt a very different set of social and spiritual values.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 18 Presidential election Astrologers soon learn that it is impossible to judge a horoscope if they have a vested interest in the issue that it represents. I can't, for example, read my children's charts with any degree of objectivity. Nor can I give you a clear prediction about whether Al Gore or George Bush Junior will win the US presidential election. I have a strong preference. It makes me want to 'twist' whatever I see in the sky. I am trying hard to raise my consciousness to the point where I can stand above all such minor earthly matters and be divinely dispassionate. If I manage this by November... I'll let you know!
THURSDAY OCTOBER 19 Cannabis A lot of people now seem to be talking about cannabis - and whether it should be legalised. I predicted, some while back, that by 2010 or so, it would be decriminalised across most of the western world. I stand by that statement. Following on though, from what I said yesterday, I must add that I only feel able to say this because I have no strong opinion. I don't think the world will be a better place once this happens - or a worse one. I just feel sure that as Neptune gets closer to Pisces, it will happen!
FRIDAY OCTOBER 20 Cat nap Yesterday's paper contained a story about a cat who fell asleep on top of a transit van. His owner then took the van for a ten mile drive. Eventually, he reached 60 mph. The cat fell off, spun over five times and landed on the grass verge. His owner glimpsed this through the mirror and screeched to a halt. To his amazement, the cat was not just alive but well. He hadn't even hurt a paw. I mentioned this to my cat, expecting him to be impressed but he just shrugged and said "Ha! That's nothing."
