January 8th to 12th 2001
MONDAY JANUARY 08 Lunar Eclipse Tomorrow brings a Lunar Eclipse. It should prove pretty spectacular. Rather than vanish completely, the Full Moon will dramatically change colour; turning a rich yellow and then a deep red. This all takes place in the sign of Cancer. It follows on from a Christmas Day eclipse of the sun in Capricorn. This rare event though, is not just significant for these two signs. It carries a message for all of us. Some people are concerned about what that may be. WHY is the sky turning the moon first gold and then to the colour of blood? Tomorrow, I'll tell you what I think it means.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 10 Maha Kumbh Mela The world's largest religious festival is now beginning in India. Millions are flocking to the city of Allahabad, to celebrate the Hindu tradition of "Maha Kumbh Mela" by the side of the Ganges. Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, millions more have just descended on a place near Dakha, to celebrate "Biswa Itjema". When this many people all make a gesture of faith at the same time, can the creation ignore their request for a miracle? Clearly not. All were treated to an awe-inspiring vision last night. Just think how spectacular and symbolic that eclipse of the Moon must have seemed in both those locations.
THURSDAY JANUARY 11 "Princess Diana's Astrologer" A well-known British newspaper is now offering its readers a personal horoscope, cast by "Princess Diana's Astrologer." I don't know how many of my colleagues Diana went to see while she was alive but I do know of at least one other lady who also claims to have been Diana's astrologer. I have no reason to doubt either of them but I do want to ask both a question. What, pray tell, gives you the right to betray your client's confidence? When someone consults a professional astrologer, are they not entitled to expect that the entire exchange will remain strictly private - forever?
FRIDAY JANUARY 12 Capricorn children's storywriters An astonishing number of Capricorn men seem to have become famous for writing children's stories. These include Rudyard Kipling (The Jungle Book), JRR Tolkien (the Hobbit), Jakob Grimm (Grimms Fairytales), Michael Bond (Paddington Bear), Hugh Lofting (Dr. Dolittle), AA Milne (Winnie The Pooh), Arthur Ransome (Swallows and Amazons) and Raymond Briggs (The Snowman). Tomorrow is the birthday of Charles Perrault - who was born on January 12, 1628 and whose "Mother Goose collection" contained Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty plus Astrocat's favourite tale; Puss in Boots.
