July 16th to July 22nd 2007
MONDAY July 16 Firing The Grid Tomorrow, at exactly 11.11am GMT*, we are invited to spend an hour helping to heal the planet. We are asked to meditate, pray or sit in quiet contemplation. Together, apparently, this will 'Fire The Grid'. The Grid is an invisible spiritual network of souls who yearn to replace anger, poverty and pollution with peace, prosperity and wisdom. The organiser is a Canadian lady who nearly drowned in an accident and was miraculously saved along with her son. 'Voices' told her how to survive. Now those same voices are now urging her to get us all doing this! * London: 12.11pm; LA: 4.11am; NYC: 7.11am; Madrid: 1.11pm; New Delhi: 4.41pm; Perth: 7.11pm; Sydney: 9.11pm; Wellington: 11.11pm. |
TUESDAY July 17 Fire the grid Some folk feel that meditation is best practised in the morning. It can, though, happen at any time. This is just as well because today a request has gone out for as many people as possible, all around the globe, to enter a state of elevated consciousness at the same moment. In the UK, that's 12.11pm. Californians though, can't participate unless they rise before 4.11am. New Zealanders will need to stay awake till 11.11pm tonight. But if 'The grid' really needs to be 'fired' to save the people of this planet from themselves, I suppose we'd all better do our bit. |
WEDNESDAY July 18 Mars rising Shortly after midnight*, you can see Mars rising in the East. It has a pinkish, red colour which, to the ancients, was always reminiscent of blood. Thus it became a planet associated with any activity that might involve 'spilling blood' like surgery, butchery and soldiery. As weaponry and ironmongery are also used in these professions, they came under the rulership of Mars too. So did activities that 'got the blood going', especially sports like racing, wrestling and boxing. The 'rush of blood' to a particular part of the anatomy also explains why Mars is traditionally linked to physical passion. * Approximate local times: London, UK - 00.42; San Francisco - 01.13; Miami - 02.02; NYC - 00.51; Rio de Janeiro - 02.39; Madrid - 1.32; New Delhi - 1.45; Tokyo - 1.10; Perth - 2.56; Sydney - 3.05; Auckland - 3.22. |

FRIDAY July 20 Mars Since I started studying other traditions of astrology, I am seeing our own with fresh eyes. Unlike the Chinese and Mayan menageries, we have a peculiar mixture of mechanical devices (ie. Scales) phantasmagorical beasts (mergoats, centaurs) plus deities in human form. Aries, for example, is named after the Greek god of war, Ares. The Romans called him Mars. This makes him the only mythological hero to have both a planet and a zodiac sign named after him. And, of course, a male sheep! Mars (or Ares) rises in the east around 1am this weekend. When you see it, salute! |
SATURDAY July 21 Mars and Uranus Mars and Uranus tell us that the theme of this week is 'sudden change'. Not the shocking, dramatic sort that throws everyone into disarray. More the surprising, exciting kind that instantly reveals a secret exit or a fresh possibility. Been wandering down a long, dark tunnel, anxious to see the light? This week, almost accidentally, you will kick away a stone and allow it to come flooding in. Be aware of the astrological outlook. Use it to your advantage. No matter what sign you are or what situation you are in, you can turn things around in a mere moment. Just be on the lookout for chances, even in places where you have looked unsuccessfully before. |
