PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

Monday December 9
Calm after the Storm
After last week's hectic roll-call of intense alignments, we're in the calm after the cosmic storm. Neptune, which represents the god of the sea, changed direction at the weekend, bringing stillness to turbulent waters, and Venus (love) in free-spirited Aquarius helps us think creatively about how to maximise our potential and appreciate what's good in our lives. We should start to feel more positive in the approach to the festive season. A surprising sense of optimism will turn out to be justified.

Tuesday December 10
Nobel Prizes
Today is Nobel Prize Day, when awards are given for scientific, cultural, and political achievements. Until they establish a Nobel Prize for Astrology (still waiting!), the one that captures my interest is the Peace prize. It's impossible not to be affected by the suffering we see in the world; and recognising the efforts of people striving to heal divisions reinvigorates those nominated and creates hope in others. The influence of both Venus and Neptune suggests there are reasons to be optimistic.

Wednesday December 11
Fight for the Right
The Sun and Venus have been locked in a tense alignment for a while. Today, although this challenging link isn't over, their relationship peaks. Meanwhile, Venus (love and abundance) opposes retrograde Mars. We're being challenged to stand up for our values and fight for our ideals. But there's more than one way to do battle. By accessing our diplomatic skills, we can create such formidable alliances that can create collaborative ways to achieve peaceful solutions to ongoing problems.

Thursday December 12
Risk and Reward
As Jupiter (wealth and growth) and Pluto (transformation and hidden resources) prepare to realign, there might be turbulence in financial affairs. The relationship between these planets often coincides with movements in markets and shifts in confidence. But for every bump in the road, they create opportunities. And their return to a tense alignment enables us to move on from the idea of waiting for 'perfect' conditions in order to benefit from past endeavours. If passions are pursued, results will be positive.

Friday December 13
The Trickster
Norse god, Loki, was the 13th guest at a feast where he tricked another god into killing Balder the god of joy. There were 13 guests present at the last supper, which was held the day before Good Friday, when Jesus was executed. These and other stories have led to Friday the 13th being considered unlucky. But, unlike floors in skyscrapers, we can't delete a day! It would be unfair to Sagittarians like Taylor Swift, who celebrate their birthday today! This Full Moon weekend, luck is changing for the better.

Saturday December 14
Your Weekly Horoscope
Although this weekend's Full Moon is known as the 'cold moon', the name doesn't indicate a frosty atmosphere. With mysterious Neptune's influence, a tranquillity presides over the Sun and Moon's relationship. It's like the gentle settling of snow; a growing sense of peacefulness that enables us to appreciate what's going on in our lives and see beauty in the familiar. And with Mercury (planet of communication) turning direct, peaceful resolutions to conflict can be more than mere fantasy.
