The Six-pointed star in the sky by Bernard Fitzwalter

Dear Bernard,
This talk of the Harmonic Concordance is fascinating. Has there ever been a time when all the planets lined up in a string outwards from the Sun?
Bob, Woking

At some stage it's bound to happen, or to have already happened, but there will be thousands of years between each occurrence. Probably the nearest that has occurred in historical times was in May 574BC, when the Earth, Moon and Venus were on one side of the Sun, and Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were all in a string on the other: only Saturn stayed out of the pattern.

If these super-alignments do act to raise our consciousness, then this one certainly did the trick, because just a few years afterwards the Buddha was born, while in China the teachings of Lao-Tse were becoming the foundations of Taoism. So two of the world's major religions came into being just after this massive alignment.

The Harmonic Convergence of this weekend, however, is not a 'string' alignment, but a six-pointed star or hexagon, with the planets defining the corners. Six planets in perfect alignment is rare and wonderful enough, but there was an even better one, with eight planets making a six-point star and an overlying square (if you can imagine that), all with the Sun at the centre, on March 2, 5BC. Some astrologers think that this alignment symbolised the coming of Christianity.

What wonders lie ahead from this one?
