MONDAY July 2 Saturn and Venus signal a new start A reader recently wondered if Tony Blair had picked a bad time to hand over to Gordon Brown, thus giving our new Prime Minister an inauspicious start. After reflecting on the astrological picture, I think Mr Brown will fare surprisingly well. There's been a glorious, visible Saturn-Venus conjunction that bodes well for establishing new boundaries. It may also explain why the latest wave of terrorist attacks have by and large missed their mark. For much the same reason, those who have chosen to stop smoking this week may soon find that giving up proves easier than they expect. The photo shows the Saturn-Venus conjunction: Venus shines brightly with Saturn to her left, and Mercury just to her right. The star Pollux can be seen to the right of the centre of the picture which can also be viewed at www.perezmedia.net Just in case you happen to know anyone who owns a theme park or runs a festival and wants a stunning centre piece. TUESDAY July 3 Should I choose my baby's birthdate Hi Jonathan, I'm pregnant with our second child. As the first was an emergency caesarian section I expect I will have to use that method again. So, I have the opportunity to choose a birth date and time. What are your thoughts, given that the time and date affects so much of the child's chart? Thanks, Belinda Dear Belinda, Just in case you happen to know anyone who owns a theme park or runs a festival and wants a stunning centre piece. WEDNESDAY July 4 Void of Course Moons Dear Jonathan, What's a 'Void of Course Moon'? Is it true that, while there is one, nobody should do anything, not even buy lipstick. Janine
Dear Janine, |
THURSDAY July 5 Jupiter changes its stripes A leopard cannot change its spots, but a planet can change its stripes! Climate change on Jupiter means that some of the brown bands on this celestial body are turning pale. Meanwhile, the lighter cloud belts are darkening. This is fairly unusual. If Jupiter is changing the way it looks to us, we should expect soon to take a different view of the topics, that Jupiter traditionally governs. These include Justice (and the process of law), Humour (and what people find funny) Luck (and how to summon it), Religion (and morality) plus long-distance travel (and how it works). |
FRIDAY July 6 Lucky numbers? Many people have asked if tomorrow will be especially auspicious? They are especially excited about what may happen on 07/07/07 at 07.07am. Cast your mind back. Did anything particularly inauspicious occur last year on 06/06/06? No. But something terrible took place two years ago on a previous 7/7. Astrology and numerology are two very different subjects. As it happens, this will be a pleasant weekend for most people, but not because of the numbers on some arbitrary earthbound 'civil calendar'. More because Jupiter and the Sun happen to be forming a rather encouraging alignment! |
SATURDAY July 7 Mercury changes direction Viruses tend to hit some folk harder than others. The ancients thought such illnesses were caused by cosmic conditions. Hence the word 'flu. It is short for 'influenza'; 'being under an astrological influence.' Modern astrologers don't take quite such a simplistic view of matters medical... but we know that certain heavenly alignments can be much more powerful for some than for others. Take, for example, the recent 'retrograde Mercury' phase. For a lucky few, this has merely meant mixed or missed messages. For the worst hit, it has caused a cavalcade of delays and dramas. Either way, as Mercury changes direction once more, we should all see an improvement soon. |
