July 9th to July 15th 2007
MONDAY July 9 It's not the end of the world! December 2012 marks the culmination of the Mayan 'long count' calendar. Some say the world will end then. Others say it marks a time when humans enter 'higher consciousness.' I wrote a lot about this recently. Then I went quiet while I did more research. For those who fear that my silence reflects a gloomy view, let me be clear. I started writing for the Mail in December 1992. 2012 will be my 20th anniversary! I shall take a very dim view of any attempt to spoil those celebrations with some trivial matter like the end of the world! |
TUESDAY July 10 Was my psychic reading for real? Dear Jonathan, Three different psychics each recently told me much the same thing... which was exactly what I wanted to hear! Did my own thoughts cloud these readings? Moira Dear Moira, |
WEDNESDAY July 11 Should I read my friend's forecast? Dear Jonathan, Sometimes, if we're going through a difficult time, I read my friend's forecast. Is that bad? Alice
Dear Alice, |
THURSDAY July 12 Is this the most violent time of all? Dear Jonathan, Are people really more violent towards each other now than at any other time in history? Has all our technological progress brought more hate and fear than love and happiness? Usually I'm upbeat and optimistic, but the more I see the news, the more despairing I become. S Dear S, |
FRIDAY July 13 Friday the thirteenth We can't just ignore the fact that it is Friday the thirteenth. Or can we? It's certainly of little interest to astrologers. We measure luck by the cosmos not the calendar. So much famous folklore surrounds today's date that it ends up having an influence all of its own. Much the same happens at Christmas. And Valentine's Day. What people expect, they tend to create. On a day like this, people expect trouble. Actually, there may just be some strange goings-on soon. By sheer coincidence we are now in the spookiest lunar phase; the 'dark of the moon'. |
SATURDAY July 14 Mercury, Venus and the New Moon Mercury moves forward once more. Venus moves into Virgo. The New Moon in Cancer starts the week with fresh hope for us all. It is as if we have been wading through treacle, dragging a ball and chain across treacherous terrain, wrestling with some ferocious beast that will neither vanquish us nor accept defeat, but simply carry on zapping our strength in some endless, pointless, battle. At different levels, in different ways, everyone can relate to that description of an exhausting experience. Soon, under this different cosmic climate, we will start to feel much happier about the particular problems and challenges that we face. |
