PART ONE

YOU MUTABLE, YOUR PARTNER CARDINAL You just cannot resist one another. In one way, that's wonderful. Yet there are times when we all need to run into a little resistance. No matter how free we like to be, we need someone who can help keep us on the rails. Your partner is more likely to help you build up such a head of steam that you end up flying right off the track. It's lovely to have your engine stoked and your whistle blown. But not when you are running up to the buffers. This is a fine relationship as long as you are both heading down the same straight course with no obstructions. But when there's trouble ahead, your impulse is to avoid it. You create a last minute diversion and steer safely, cleverly clear. Your partner's preference is for a confrontation, a showdown, a test of strength. The trouble is not so much that you argue, more that you compromise in a way that exacerbates both your worst weaknesses.
