Welcome to Jonathan's 2003 Year Ahead LOVE introduction
Click on the zodiac signs below to read the Love & Relationships section plus an Overview for 2003 Never did the course of true love run smooth. So wrote William Shakespeare. But then he was a Taurean and people born under this sign are famously down to earth when it comes to love and romance. We all, of course, want 2003 to be the year in which our hearts thaw while our pulses race. Theres a very good chance that our wish will be granted. For this year Mars will come closer to the earth than it has been at any point in the last 73,000 years. Mars is the planet of passion. It governs wild, torrid outbursts of determined desire. It is the planet of invasion and intrusion, conquest and consummation. Therell be plenty of all that kind of thing going on this year as the red planet begins to dominate our night sky. This may be good news for those who are looking for electric action in their love-life. But it does not bode so well for the planet as a whole. Mars is the classic symbol of unthinking, uncaring aggression. It is the planet of anger, attack and machismo of the kind most often demonstrated by hot-headed males. Indeed, the very symbol for Mars is the same as the traditional symbol for male energy. If you look closely at it, you can soon see why. Right now the big men all over our planet are beating their chests and banging their drums of war. They dont much care who they harm as long as they prove their petty points. They are all, of course, insisting that they are in the right that they do not really want a fight at all and that it is all the other guys fault. This is classic Mars talk. People who are hell-bent on battle invariably argue that they have no choice other than to resort to violence. What force can possibly counteract this worrying warmongering? Only one. There only ever has been one sure way to disarm dangerous men with a mad mission. Their hatred must be met with compassion. Their intolerance with forgiveness. Their ignorance with understanding. The Beatles once sang All you need is love. Right now we need it more than ever but it will not be the love of cosy couples that saves our world from being taken to the brink of destruction this year. It will be the ability of ordinary people to love and respect their fellow human beings and to recognise the horrible futility of going to war with one another. LOVE FOR...?
